WRiTE BRAiN LLC is a California-based education company offering curriculum programs, resources, and a digital Book Builder for teachers and students. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable law, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the California Student Privacy Laws (AB 1584).
1. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the Book Builder:
- Username and password for account login
- Student-created content: stories, author names, and photos uploaded by students
We do NOT collect financial information, email addresses, contact details, behavioral data, or any information for advertising or market research purposes.
2. How We Use Information
Information is used solely to:
- Create and maintain secure user accounts
- Allow students and teachers to access, create, and save digital books
We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, or commercial purposes of any kind.
3. Who Can Access Your Information
The Book Builder is fully password-protected. No member of the public can access accounts or content. Student books and uploaded photos are accessible only to:
- The teacher assigned to that student’s account
- The student who created the content (if the teacher has shared the digital link with them)
- Anyone the student forwards the digital link to
Optional Book Sharing: Students or teachers may choose to share a virtual copy of a completed book. When shared, the recipient can view the story, author name, and any uploaded photo should there be one. Sharing is always initiated by the user - we never publish content publicly.
4. Cookies
We use cookies only for login authentication and basic usability. We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, market research, or any form of individual or aggregate data collection.
5. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information - including email addresses or contact information - with any third party. Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is required.
6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & California Law)
We comply fully with COPPA and California student privacy laws. Student accounts are created and managed by teachers or school administrators, who obtain any necessary consent on behalf of students. WE DO NOT:
- Knowingly collect ANY personal data from children under 13 (nor any other children)
- Use student data for advertising, profiling, or any non-educational purpose
- Disclose student information to third parties
Parents or guardians may contact us to review, correct, or delete their child’s digital storybook or author’s bio at any time.
7. Data Security & Retention
All accounts are password-protected and access is strictly limited to authorized users. We retain data only as long as an account is active. To request account or data deletion, contact us below.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of our website or Book Builder following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
